My first attempt at a digital layout...

Image
So, I have been seeing a lot of digital scrapbooking going on... and of course I thought perhaps I should try it out. I put out the question of what programs people use and so forth. And everyone was so nice and told me what they use. Thank you to the wonderful ladies at Scrapbook Challenges.  So I figured that I would go ahead and attempt one in Photoshop...I am not real sure how I like it.  But, it is my first attempt...and naturally I will only get better at it I'm sure. So, here is how it turned out.  I created this layout using Sketch 274 from Scrapbook Challenges.  It definitely needs something. I don't quite know what yet, but something. Perhaps some more photos. I do know that the round photo is going to have to be moved over because I cannot have a photo in the center of a layout where it will have to be cut to go into the album. That is just not going to work.  This sort of makes me feel like I've stepped back in time. The beginning of scrap

Christmas Tree kids project

Image
So, last night my 3 year old grandson, Osro and my 4 year old nephew, Alexei came over to play.  Of course they think my son is the coolest uncle/cousin in the world and always want to play with him these days.  But I had found this cool project on Pinterest that I thought they may enjoy creating.  So we rolled up their pant legs, and painted their feet.  They thought that was pretty fun.  And we created some cute Christmas trees.  Has anyone else tried doing this project with the kids?  We punched out ornaments from glitter paper and glued those on for decorations too.  I think the boys really enjoyed doing this. Here is one of them.

A few more favorite layouts

Some more of the layouts that I have created. This Pilgrim & Indian was also a two week long project. But it turned out so awesome! This is when my adorable snowman paper piecing came to life. I have since made several of them. I DO love snowmen. They are so very fun to create, whether it be creating them with snow or paper...I enjoy both.  Another cute Halloween layout. The boy with the puppy paper piecing turned out nicely. Adorable little "True Love" paperdoll paper piecing. This one is another fav. And one more Halloween layout. The haunted house turned out to be very cute. I hand cut the spider webs and fence pieces. All the embellishments I created except of course the tiny brads.

A few of my favorite layouts

While I am getting involved in becoming active in my blog, I thought it a good idea to show a few of the layouts that I have created. I hope that you will enjoy what I have to show you for now. I will be working on some new creations to bring in soon.  Here I have a beautiful quilled layout. I worked on two of them for a two week period to get them just right. And of course it does take a bit of time to do all the quilling. I must admit I really enjoyed creating the quilled layouts. And they turned out so pretty! Here is a Jack-O-Lantern layout that I created. Each of the little jack-o-lanterns are a paper piecing. The pumpkin is made to add journaling to. I really like to do the crinkled and distressed paper. This Christmas layout is one of my all time favorites. I had so much fun creating this one. Pictures do this layout no justice at all. The letters in the title are all raised with foam tape and some of the ornaments on the top border are too. The two end photo mats h

Castle Paper Piecings

Image
Here are some photos of the castles that I created.  They were quite fun to do. I made them in three colors, gray, blue and pink.  The gray ones all have the bricks on them. Then I thought it may be cool to have some that were more simple looking so when I did the blue and pink ones I decided that I would leave the bricks off of some.  So there are 5 variations of the castle. Here is the blue with bricks. The blue without bricks. Pink with bricks. And the pink without bricks. I think I like them all.

Princesses & Witches

Image
Alrighty, here are a couple of photos of the witches and princesses that I created. I really had so much fun creating them! I totally enjoy creating new paper dolls. I have a few others that are still in progress. One of these days I will get them completed so they can be shared also.  These are the cute little princesses. The wispy ribbon on her dress added a nice touch. And the crown, was a bit of a challenge, but turned out quite nicely.   Next are the adorable witches. I am so in love with them. They turned out so awesome! I love how her hat & shoes turned out so cutely. And the added touch of her flying on her broom just made her even more lovable.  Then last week I had a request from someone for "green" witches. I guess she is making a "Wicked" scrapbook layout. So, I sat down to creating some green witches just for her last weekend. They turned out very well too. I almost want to say I like them better in green...but...I really just
