Snowflake Charm Necklace

Image
I'm so excited about the new snowflake charm necklace I've created! I've been wanting to do some metal stamped jewelry for quite some time but things somehow never turn out as nicely as I want them to. The other day I decided to attempt it again and these turned out beautifully! Snowflake Charm Necklace  I love the look and feel of these. I decided to have 3 different snowflakes to choose from as well as choosing a black cord or a silver chain. Everybody loves a little customization. If you have a snowflake lover in your life this snowflake charm necklace will be the perfect handmade gift for any occasion.  Here is a little "behind the scenes" look at how they are created.  Hand stamping   Various stages of stamping Teeny tiny letters Before patina After patina Finished snowflake charm necklaces I enjoy created handmade jewelry for you so much! This is a year of Snowflakes!

Image
So this has certainly been a year packed FULL of snowflakes for me! Which has turned out to be a pretty darned good year! An update on what has happened in the past couple of months... In September I completed a project for Art Prize. It was a big stained glass snowflake with photos of snowflakes framed within it and 4 smaller snowflakes that go on each side of the large one. This is how it turned out  I must say that I am quite proud of the way that it turned out. I cannot wait to bring it home...after 10 days straight of 8 to 14 hour days working on it trying to complete it before the deadline...I kind of miss it. Although I have had many other things to fill my time with. I have been spending much more time at the gallery, Serendipity181. A wonderful place to be. Mary always has plenty of projects for me to occupy my time and it gives me experience in doing the things that I went to school to do. I get to take care of the website, and product photos as well as promoting

Headpieces & Mobiles

Image
I have been pretty busy the past couple of weeks working on some new projects. I created some beautiful headpieces, mobiles and finished up  a few necklaces that I had in progress.  Quite a productive couple of weeks I'd say.  This past week was a bit challenging  as I collected a bunch of stuff that someone had thrown out. My mind was overwhelmed with so many new ideas  I just couldn't focus on any one thing for a couple of days!  I got a load of frames that I can use for creating some wonderful work!  I am pretty excited to begin creating something awesome with them. I have been enjoying working with wire lately so there very well     may be wire work with a frame created. Here are a couple photos of the newest creations. Rough Week

Image
So, things have been a bit tough the past week here  and I have not been on my game of writing my blogs as I had planned to be doing.  However, extenuating circumstances have kept me away.  I am going to be getting myself ready for this blog hop coming up in February...exciting!  I must get my card done for this. Hopefully I will be able to get a little bit done on it tonight. I was trying to do the LOAD for January on Let's Scrap  but that is not going so well for me right now.  I was right on top of it the first week, then life sorta got in the way... and I have not been able to do anything for over a week now.  I will be attempting to accomplish something shortly.  Be it my card or a layout...I do not yet know. I need to clean out my room and get things back together in there so that I can do some work... or... perhaps I shall just leave it a mess and do some work.  It's just going to end up getting messy all over again anyway. :) hehe So, I

My first attempt at a digital layout...

Image
So, I have been seeing a lot of digital scrapbooking going on... and of course I thought perhaps I should try it out. I put out the question of what programs people use and so forth. And everyone was so nice and told me what they use. Thank you to the wonderful ladies at Scrapbook Challenges.  So I figured that I would go ahead and attempt one in Photoshop...I am not real sure how I like it.  But, it is my first attempt...and naturally I will only get better at it I'm sure. So, here is how it turned out.  I created this layout using Sketch 274 from Scrapbook Challenges.  It definitely needs something. I don't quite know what yet, but something. Perhaps some more photos. I do know that the round photo is going to have to be moved over because I cannot have a photo in the center of a layout where it will have to be cut to go into the album. That is just not going to work.  This sort of makes me feel like I've stepped back in time. The beginning of scrap
